Satelles Statement on Coronavirus / COVID-19
During these unprecedented times, we want to assure the public that we are taking proactive and sensible measures to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 and that we remain dedicated to operating our business during this global crisis.
Satelles is committed to the protection of our employees as well as the health and well-being of those with whom we may personally interact. We have indefinitely suspended all nonessential travel and increased the number of virtual meetings. Team members are taking precautions by practicing physical distancing and adhering to the most effective hygiene guidelines. The company is heeding advisories and complying with mandates issued by governmental authorities, which in some cases may require temporarily closing or otherwise restricting access to Satelles facilities. If one of our team members is exposed or becomes infected, we are prepared to take whatever action is needed to prevent further spread and aid recovery.
Many Satelles team members are full-time remote employees whose work will continue without disruption. Those based in our California, Colorado, and Virginia offices are also part-time or occasional teleworkers, so they already have the tools and training to seamlessly shift over to full-time remote work as it becomes necessary. Each of us takes full advantage of email, instant messaging, video conferencing, and other collaboration tools, all of which are protected by the most advanced security protocols. In short, working together while working apart is ingrained in our corporate culture, so we’re maintaining our rhythm without missing a beat.
With our team members able to perform their duties remotely, we will continue to provide STL to those customers who depend on us for assured positioning, navigation, and timing. Additionally, the service delivery platforms of Satelles were built with resilience in mind, with operational backups and automated failovers in place to keep STL up and running during adverse conditions. Our service partners (e.g., Iridium and others) have enacted their own robust continuity plans as they transition many employees to remote work, and we have the requisite interlocks in place with them to ensure ongoing operations.
The Management Team of Satelles is in daily discussion about the ever-changing impacts of COVID-19 on various aspects of our business.
