Technical Project Manager (Reston, VA)

OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY
As a Technical Project Manager, you will have the responsibility for planning and providing technical management for interrelated software and/or system development projects. This position requires a strong system and software development background and a “hands-on” approach to team leadership.

SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain project plans including tracking contractual milestones, tracking budget, estimating effort, and report progress to internal and external stakeholders
Perform Requirement analysis
Define and develop engineering documents
Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement by supporting implementation and improvement of project management processes
Routinely work directly with external customers representing our products and services

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least 5 years professional experience within system engineering and/or object oriented software design and development
Must possess a strong understanding of the agile process and the role of a product owner
Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
Familiar with the fundamentals of satellite-based PNT (position, navigation, and timing) such as GNSS, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, or Beidou
Strong verbal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering (Aerospace, Computer, Electrical or Systems) or equivalent experience.
Must be a US Citizen

Financial Analyst (Reston, VA)

Job Summary:

Under the direction of VP of Finance, the Financial Analyst will report financial status by preparing and analyzing financial plans, budgets, and forecasts.  The ideal candidate is a fast learner with tactical financial support experience in a high-tech industry.

 Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, consolidate, develop and analyze budgets, re-estimates and short/long term plans.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Oversee project financials and reporting

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a top-tier program and 6+ years in comparable position.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of financial analyst experience
  • Exceptional Excel skills required
  • Significant experience with budgets, planning, project oversight, analysis, audits and reporting
  • Government contracting experience highly desired

Principal Engineer for Software Definable Radio systems (Redwood City, CA or Reston, VA)

JOB SUMMARY

Satelles is seeking an experienced principal engineer to join the team developing state-of-the-art user equipment for the company’s satellite-based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) solutions.  The selected candidate will design, simulate, develop, modify, enhance and implement solutions for digital signal processing on ARM and DSP platforms.  The platforms are used with internal products or as part of solutions our partners develop.

This position is ideal for a hands-on Principal Engineer who is seeking an opportunity to develop new systems based on a unique and patented space-based technology.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with an internal development team and with commercial partners to implement the company’s flagship Satellite Time and Location (STL) solution on new platforms

  • Develop and maintain signal processing algorithms and associated hardware implementations for PNT positioning products
  • Implementing and testing algorithms and components in a hardware description language (Verilog/VHDL) for FPGAs, ASICs, SoCs
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers and technical peers to solve complex system problems
  • Analyze customer needs and establish product objectives, specifications and technical solutions to ensure products satisfy customer requirements and deliverables
  • Lead system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for future enhancements
  • Contribute to all aspects of the product life cycle (concept, development, integration, qualification, acceptance, delivery, and maintenance)
  • Follows established configuration/change control processes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Strong ability to design, simulate, develop, implement, and troubleshoot advanced real-time digital signal processing solutions on embedded systems platforms with ARM, DSP and FPGA processing elements.
  • In depth experience with digital radio systems such as GPS/GNSS or software definable radios
  • Key DSP techniques include code correlation, FFT, and phase-locked-loops
  • In depth knowledge of baseband radio signal processing, Spread Spectrum receiver design principles, signal processing in hardware and software
  • Knowledge in GPS/GNSS technology and navigation algorithms
  • Familiarity with common RF/HW/FW/SW tools such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, Chipscope, GDB etc.
  • Other important skills for this position include simulation and debugging with Matlab/Octave and C++, and the ability to develop in a Linux environment 
  • Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks 
  • Proven ability to work independently; designing, developing and deploying solutions, and delivering projects on time with minimal direction 
  • Ability to listen and evaluate all opinions without bias, and contribute to a common culture of excellence 
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to government contract. 

Technologies and Tools

  • ARM, DSP, C++, RTOS, Linux development environment
  • Skills with Matlab/Octave, Python, verification or test automation tools are a plus
  • Experience with RF/hardware design and debugging is a plus

Education and Work Experience

  • MS/PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 15+ years of related work experience.
