Administrative Specialist (Virginia)

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Finance this position provides administrative support for the executive team. This position composes routine correspondence and memoranda, executes the accounts payable process, including vendor management, invoice coding, assembling executive expense reports and vendor file maintenance. Additionally, performs duties such as financial record keeping, coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies, office management and working on special projects. The position may assist with executive travel arrangements and coordinating food and beverages for meetings and conferences. Also, answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload, recommends changes in office practices or procedures.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creates and modifies various work products using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe)
Performs typical office and facility management type responsibilities.
Manages the accounts payable inbox, and upkeeps vendor files
Creates / prepares meeting materials (e.g., PowerPoint deck; agendas) and ensures distribution to appropriate individuals in a timely manner
Prepares PowerPoint presentations (placing already created charts/graphics in visually appealing places)
Coordinates meetings and conference calls as needed or anticipated
Collects, synthesizes, analyzes, and summarizes data
Tracks, maintains, and assists with metrics / metrics reports, finding any discrepancies in data
Develops and compiles reports for a variety of audiences
Records minutes at various meetings and archives them accordingly
Performs all other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint, basic excel skills

Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contract requirements

Related Work Experience & Number of Years
A minimum of 4 years recent related experience or college education

Education, Certification & Licenses
Experience may substitute education

Working Conditions
Office Environment – This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Senior FPGA/Firmware Engineer (FPGA/Embedded Developer for Software Definable Radio systems)

Job Opportunity Summary

Satelles is seeking an experienced hardware/firmware engineer to join the team developing state-of-the-art user equipment for the company’s satellite-based position, navigation, and timing (PNT) solutions. The selected candidate will design, develop, modify, enhance and implement real-time firmware for digital signal processing on FPGA and ARM platforms.  This position is ideal for a hands-on hardware/firmware engineer who is seeking an opportunity to develop new systems based on a unique and patented space-based technology.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with an internal development team and with commercial partners to implement the company’s flagship Satellite Time and Location (STL) solution on new platforms

  •  Codes, tests, and debugs new firmware and makes enhancements to existing firmware
  • Codes and performs unit and integration testing of firmware to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements
  • Collaborates with internal customers and technical peers to solve complex software problems
  • Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for future enhancements
  • Follows established configuration/change control processes

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Strong ability to develop, implement, and troubleshoot advanced real-time digital signal processing solutons on embedded systems platforms with both FPGA and ARM processor components.
  • FPGA coding and debugging with Xilinx products and proficiency with VHDL
  • Experience with digital radio systems such as GPS/GNSS or software definable radios
  • Key DSP techniques include code correlation, FFT, and phase-locked-loops
  • Ability to design, create, and debug both sides of the FPGA/CPU interface, using VHDL and C/C++, to optimize performance
  • Familiarity with common RF/HW/FW/SW tools such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generator, spectrum analyzer, Chipscope, GDB etc.
  • Other important skills for this position include simulation and debugging with Matlab/Octave and C++, and the ability to develop in a Linux environment
  • Ability to work seamlessly within a team as well as manage individual tasks
  • Proven ability to work independently; designing, developing and deploying solutions, and delivering projects on time with minimal direction
  • Ability to listen and evaluate all opinions without bias, and contribute to a common culture of excellence
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • US Citizenship is required for this position

Technologies and Tools

  • ARM, FPGA, C++, Linux development environment
  • Skills with Matlab/Octave, Python, verification or test automation tools are a plus
  • Experience with RF/hardware design and debugging is a plus

Education and Work Experience

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 10+ years of related work experience.

Senior Software Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

This position will require the candidate to serve as the technical Lead for all efforts developing Satelles software products

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform as a key contributor for the design and architecture for Satelles software products
  • Work with the Technical leads and subject matter experts to develop the product backlog
  • Decompose user stories into detailed level tasking with the development team
  • Perform development, unit testing, and integration activities
  • Serve as a model for software quality and best-practices
  • Work directly with internal and external customers
  • Work in a dynamic team-oriented environment using agile methodologies
  • Participate in developing software development processes

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of experience developing software applications

  • Linux (5+ years)
  • C++ (5+ years)
  • Java (5+ years)
  • Experience working with scripting languages such as Python and Bash.
  • Hands-on knowledge from working with AWS technologies.
  • Unit testing experience
  • Experience building consumer-facing interactive front-end web applications
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
  • Practitioner of continuous integration and GIT
  • Must be a US citizen due to federal contracts
  • Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS DevOps
  • AWS Certifications
  • Hands-on knowledge across the catalog of AWS technologies
  • Experience administering Linux systems
